It’s that time of the year! The only time where I legitimately consider morality and goodness, all for the sake of getting free stuff. We are exactly a week out from Christmas morning and I keep going in my quest of convincing Santa that he has to bring me more books this year.
I was tagged on this by my book-twin Brittany @PerfectlyTolerable so I’ll take this as a competition
RULES:
- Tag & link the person who tagged you
- Tag and link me/this post (if you would be so kind, I love reading your answers!)
- Tick/cross off the ones you’ve done
- Tag another 10 people!
Received an ARC and not reviewed it
❌ I’ve decided that I cannot be trusted with ARCs for the time being but the two that I did get were read and reviewed!
Have less than 60% feedback rating on Netgalley
✔️ I’m a bad reader, even if I’m excited for a book I can’t force myself to read something I’m not in the mood for, and this is bad for netgalley who likes to put deadlines on reviews…
Rated a book on Goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did)
❌ I try to never promise a review because sometimes I’ll forget everything in just a few days
Folded down the page of a book
❌ Since I read mostly ebooks this is almost impossible for me to do
Accidentally spilled on a book
❌
DNF a book this year
✔️ Just a couple but I just don’t like to push myself through something I’m not actively enjoying. I may pick them back up later but at the moment I didn’t feel like reading them so I stopped.
Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it
✔️
I bought the beautiful Collectors Edition of Six of Crows and I regret nothing. I’ll probably re-read it soon anyways but that’s NOT why I bought it lbh
Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework)
✔️ All. The. Time
Skim read a book
✔️ Never an entire book but I’ve skimmed some chapters when they were too explanation-heavy or nothing particularly interesting was happening.
Completely missed your Goodreads goal
✔️?
I mean… I still have time???
Borrowed a book and not returned it to the library
❌ It’s been literal years since I borrowed from the library so I’m safe here
Broke a book buying ban
✔️
Technically yes but I also already knew I was going to do it and even made a post about all the books I was going to buy while on my ban… I’m not really good at this
Started a review, left it for ages, then forgot what the book was about
✔️
I just read a lot and sometimes the stories get a bit scrambled in my head, that’s why I try to write my reviews as soon as I finish reading. However, there have been a few times where I didn’t write them straight away and I had to go through my notes to refresh everything
Wrote in a book you were reading
❌ Again: E-Books
Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads
❌ I’m already struggling with my GR goal enough not to add every little paragraph I get through.
Borrowed a book and not returned it to a friend
❌I’d hate if someone did this to me so I try not to do it, ever
Dodged someone asking if they can borrow a book
❌ There’s nothing better than getting to talk about a book with someone else! (that’s why I made a blog) so as long as someone promises to take care of it, I’ll lend a book to anyone
Broke the spine of someone else’s book
❌ *Go back up two answers*
Took the jacket off a book to protect it and ended up making it more damaged
❌ I’ll leave the jacket on the shelf keeping the space of the book and the book will always travel on a booksleeve or a special bag so it doesn’t get damaged
Sat on a book accidentally
❌ I don’t think I have(?
Yay!! See you are nice! You don’t have to trick Santa haha. Why did you make a ban if you knew you were going to break it? I don’t even bother making one because I know I will break it haha
