Friday Reads

Friday reads was invented by The Candid cover, It’s a book meme that mixes two already existing:

  • Book Beginnings is a book meme hosted by Rose City Reader where participants share the first sentence (or so) of the book, along with initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires.
  • The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda’s Voice, and the rules are quite simple: Grab a book, any book, and turn to page 56 or 56% in your e-reader. Find any non-spoilery sentence(s) and post.

Book Beginnings

When I dreamed, these pinpricks of light filtered through the trees of an old forest.

Dreams are so important on this series and we are starting off with one. I can already feel the angst pouring out of this one.

The Friday 56

If you speak even a word of what you see, then all the death that follows will be stained upon your fangs and claws as if you were the one who dealt the killing blow.

And this is on PAGE 56 of 478. We are getting right into it, aren’t we?

I’m almost finished and it gets even more intense. I can feel a massive book hungover coming my way, but it’s totally worth it

TJ Klune has no chill and he wants to murder us all

What Are You Reading Wednesday

I saw this meme back at The Introverted Booknerd and it goes like this:

What Are You Reading Wednesday was created by RhiannaMarissa, and Kendall. The idea is to create a space for book lovers to share, discuss, and recommend the books they are currently reading and loving. All you have to do is answer the questions about your current read and then head over to one of the host’s sites to link up your post! Have fun and don’t forget to check out everyone’s posts as well!

Ox was seventeen when he found out the little boy’s secret and it painted the world around him in colors of red and orange and violet, of Alpha and Beta and Omega.

Ox was twenty-three when murder came to town and tore a hole in his head and heart. The boy chased after the monster with revenge in his bloodred eyes, leaving Ox behind to pick up the pieces.

It’s been three years since that fateful day—and the boy is back. Except now he’s a man, and Ox can no longer ignore the song that howls between them.
