We are now on the final stretch of the year! And what a year it’s been… So we are, for the last time before the wrap up, checking in on how well I’m keeping up with the damned New Year’s Bookish Resolutions
100 75 books
A while ago I changed my Goodreads goal since I was getting a bit overwhelmed and there was no point in doing it if I wasn’t having fun. Now I’m pretty close to my goal and if I manage to finish all the books I’ve started and put down this month I’ll be comfortably ahead of schedule.
Read hispanic and latinx authors
This is an ongoing effort and it picked up thanks to the Latinx Book Bingo that happened on September, a lot of great books and authors were put on blast and I added a good number to my TBR. I hope to get to them soon.
Seek out more diverse books
Yep, I’m doing it. I’m reading mostly queer books but I’m also trying to read authors from different cultures as well to open my horizons. Sometimes it’s too easy to stay within the stories I know and feel comfortable with and I don’t pick up others that could potentially be even more interesting.
I’m not being sarcastic when I say I’m actually doing awesome on this. I’ve managed not only to post 3 to 4 times a week most of this year but on October I participated on Blogotober2018 and posted every day. It was hard and some days I didn’t even know what to write a bout but it was a lot of fun and something I’d do again in another year maybe, right now I’m dying to go back to a more chill posting schedule.
Read at least one classic book every month!
I think I’m doing pretty good, the list has changed a bit since the start of the year but I feel okay about that and I’ll try and meet all the resolutions by the end of 2018.
