3 Bookish Things TAG

Have you noticed how much things come in threes in books? Like, the main three in Harry Potter, the big three gods in greek mythology (and I can’t think of any more but you know)Resultado de imagen para three! gif

I don’t know who made this tag but I saw it the other day at Saturday Nite Reader and here it is!

Basically it’s one prompt and you have to give three answers

Genre Book Tag

I was tagged on something!

The lovely Bibi @Bibi’s Book Blog did this tag the other day and decided that my answers could be interesting(?) So go check out that post and then come back and see what mess I get up to!

No rules! Just a reminder:

Ok so basically with the genre tag you answer the questions provided and tag a few people so look out for that at the end.

booktag

Fun Fact: In Spanish genre and gender are the same word: género so from now on I’ll identify solely as Fantasy ((Please note this is a joke, my pronouns are still she/her or they/them))

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Title: Illuminae

Series: The Illuminae Files #1

Authors: Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

Publisher: Knopf Books for Young Readers

Format: Hardcover

Length: 602 pages

Rating: 4/5 ★★★★☆

Summary:

Resultado de imagen para illuminae cover gifThis morning, Kady thought breaking up with Ezra was the hardest thing she’d have to do. This afternoon, her planet was invaded.
The year is 2575, and two rival megacorporations are at war over a planet that’s little more than an ice-covered speck at the edge of the universe. Too bad nobody thought to warn the people living on it. With enemy fire raining down on them, Kady and Ezra—who are barely even talking to each other—are forced to fight their way onto an evacuating fleet, with an enemy warship in hot pursuit.
But their problems are just getting started. A deadly plague has broken out and is mutating, with terrifying results; the fleet’s AI, which should be protecting them, may actually be their enemy; and nobody in charge will say what’s really going on. As Kady hacks into a tangled web of data to find the truth, it’s clear only one person can help her bring it all to light: the ex-boyfriend she swore she’d never speak to again.
BRIEFING NOTE: Told through a fascinating dossier of hacked documents—including emails, schematics, military files, IMs, medical reports, interviews, and more—Illuminae is the first book in a heart-stopping, high-octane trilogy about lives interrupted, the price of truth, and the courage of everyday heroes.

I Spy a Latinx Edition

Bibi from Bibi’s Bookblog tagged me a while ago and I didn’t get around to it until now… I’M SO SORRY!

I love that there are people out there who think of me when doing their tags!! And Bibi has given me the perfect opportunity to highlight even more latinx authors

I already did I Spy My TBR and I Spy READ Edition, for this I decided to do Latinx authors keeping the theme with the Latinx Book Bingo I’m currently taking part in

Let’s see how I do:…

FR-Soft on Soft

Friday read was invented by The Candid cover

friday

It’s a book meme that mixes two already existing:

  • Book Beginnings is a book meme hosted by Rose City Reader where participants share the first sentence (or so) of the book, along with initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires.
  • The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda’s Voice, and the rules are quite simple: Grab a book, any book, and turn to page 56 or 56% in your e-reader. Find any non-spoilery sentence(s) and post.

41212987 Soft on Soft by Em Ali

This is a super cute book about fat girls in love, I’m just starting it but it’s soooo adorable and positive! It also has so much diversity mixed in

Book Beginnings:

Selena didn’t believe in love at first sight. Didi the concept exist? Sure. Did she think she would ever experience it? Probably not.

I agree 100%, you may feel attraction at first sight but I never believed on love at first sigh because you cannot love someone before you even know the first thing about them. This also makes more sense when we learn (right away) that she is demi and so she wouldn’t even get attraction at first sight.

The Friday 56:

There was this transformation to their relationship. June felt bare and open and understood.
