TTT·All of you were right

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

July 31:

Popular Books that Lived Up to the Hype

I usually avoid reading hyped books for a long time. I pick them up when all the hype has died down and try to approach it without expectations. It’s so easy to be let down by a book, not because it’s bad but because you expected more.

Here are the books that lived up to all the hype, in no particular order:

  1. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
    1. Thoughts
  2. Dear Martin by Nic Stone
    1. Review
  3. We were Liars by E. Lockhart
  4. Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertali
    1. Quotes and ranting
  5. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
  6. Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
  7. They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera
    1. Review
  8. A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab
    1. Review
  9. The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
  10. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

  1. Oh this is such a great list! I agree with you about Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom, I was so scared to read both of these, but they turned out to be as great as everyone said, so… I’m glad haha 🙂 I also loved THUG, Simon Vs. and We were liars (that twist!!).

    1. Thanks 🙂 I was honestly so worried that I wouldn’t like SoC as much!
That twist!!! My friends made me read that one and they were asking me if “that thing” happened yet and I was like wtf. And then it happened and I called one of them like: I know it now
