The title is pretty self-explanatory, here are some books that I’m hoping to get to this month::
As usual, you can click on the covers to go to the book’s goodreads page and find out more of what they are about.
I’m dividing this list between books I plan to read and books I plan to listen to because I feel like there’s a different sort of feeling for each category.
Books I plan on reading
Next I need to re-read Simon VS the Homo Sapiens agenda by Becky Albertalli before the movie comes out. I’m going to get the newest edition since A. You can never have too many copies of such a great book and B. I’ve forgotten about a 70% of the things that happened and I want to be ready for the movie
Then, a while ago I bought a book because I saw it on twitter almost all the time AND it’s about hockey players (like meee) but I haven’t read it yet. Off the Ice by Avon Gale and Piper Vaughn. This choice I blame fully on Em from THEY HAD MANY QUEER GOINGS ON*. They hyped it so much that I couldn’t resist.
Another I couldn’t get to last month but that I definitely want to read is Let’s talk about love by Claire Kann. I haven’t bought it yet but it’s on my list and as soon as I can I’ll be getting it. There’s so much on this book that I know I’m going to like.
The Reader by Traci Chee. This cover is absolutely amazing and it has a summary to match. Laura from Green tea & Paperbacks said it’s one of her faves so I’ll give it a try as soon as possible.
And last but not least, this month I’m planning to read Bruja Born by Zoraida Córdova. I read the previous book on the Brooklyn Brujas series when it came out and it blew me away. It has three latina sisters as main characters and each book focuses on one sister. The first one, Labyrinth Lost, was about the middle sister, Alex. Bruja Born is about the eldest sister Lula, who has the power of healing. I hope to have a review up soon.
I also have A LOT of ARCs that I should be getting to but I’ll be telling you all about those as I go.
Books I plan on listening
Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare, I started this one last month but didn’t have many chances of listening to it since I was catching up on some podcasts. I’m reading it because a dear friend of mine recommended it but I’m not too sure I enjoy CC’s style, that’s why I chose to listen to it instead of reading, it’s easier to focus on the over-all story. I’ve also been assured that it gets better on the second book of the series, so we’ll see. It’s over 24 hours long so I have most of the month made with this one.
Wayward Children series by Seanan McGuire. I’ve already listened to and loved the first book, Every Heart a doorway so I’m excited to get to the other two novellas. The writing style is haunting and beautiful and the stories feel like nothing I’ve read before. Also, look at those covers!
I know that this TBR is a bit too ambitious but I like to have other options when I’m reading, just in case I need a change.
What are you all reading this month? Have you read any of this and want to tell me how good/not so good they are? Feel free to drop a comment.
