Top Ten Tuesday·Books that I thought better and no

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Books I’ve Decided I’m No Longer Interested In Reading

A little while ago I did a thorough cleaning of my TBR shelf but I will try to find those I scratched out

zenith_epicreadsZenith, from the beginning I don’t usually read scify but I really enjoy Sasha Alsberg’s videos and thought I could give it a chance. Since it came out I’ve seen nothing but bad reviews so I feel like there’s actually no point in trying it. Maybe if I usually read that genre I’d try and see what’s about but there isn’t much pulling me to it.

Throne of glass by Sarah J Maas. There was (and still is) a lot of hype for these books but I’ve also seen some bloggers I trust say it had some issues and I’d rather not bother

31938963Since we are talking about this author: A court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J Maas. I read the previous two and while they weren’t terrible there weren’t much at all. It took me two months to read ACOMAF so I won’t be picking up the last one. I also heard that it was a rather lacking final book and can’t measure to the previous ones.

All the crooked saints by Maggie Stiefvater. I read and liked the four Raven Cycle books and her writing style is quite good but I’ve read some reviews saying that this book doesn’t do latinx culture any favors and suffers from white saviour syndrome so again there are better books I could spend my time and money in

The mortal instruments by Cassandra Clare. I read the first one years ago and didn’t care for it, now I’m in love with the TV show so I thought Maybe I just need to try harder with the books so I tried to read City of Ashes and no. I was right the first time, this books are not for me. I can’t stand Clary and Jace is kind of an asshole and Izzy is dumb?? So I’ll pass on the entire series. (I do like the new covers though)

Call me by your name by André Aciman, normally I’d be all over a book about a queer couple finding love but I’ve been researching and apparently there’s a relationship between a minor and an adult and some disturbing use of peaches so, no thanks

That’s it for this week, sorry if I mentioned your fave book the fact that I’m not reading it doesn’t necessarily make it a bad book but I’d rather be reading something else.
