NAME A CHARACTER FROM A BOOK THAT FITS IN THE DESCRIPTIONS* BELOW!
Apollo, from Trials of Apollo by Rick Riordan
He isn’t kind of a sh*thead, he is a full on a**hole. But his dad made a good choice sending him to live as a human (First
and probably last good choice Zeus ever made lbr) He was funny at the beginning but along the book he becomes more compassionate and learns to listen to others and that he isn’t as hot a sh*t as he originally thought.
He has a long way to go but still we love him.
Nicky Hemmick from the All for the Game trilogy by Nora Sakavic
The choice was not someone intimidating at the start but he is someone you didn’t expect to become a paternal figure along the way. This young pretty and gay mess is a player of the Palmetto Foxes, a university exy team made of kids that had a hard life and are just trying to get by, he is also the cousin of two other players: Andrew and Aaron.
Let’s just say it’s not easy. But this boy left the love of his life in Germany only to take care of his cousins in the US, he got a job and did everything to make sure the boys felt like they had a family. If that’s not a paternal figure then I don’t know what to tell you.
Danny from Timekeeper by Tara Sim
A lovable reclusive that suffers from PTSD, takes care of his mom and tries to drown himself in his work. This guy will wax poetics about the inner functioning of clocks but try to go out with him and he’ll end up in a fist fight only to f*ck off the moment he can to go visit his clock-boyfriend.
This is 100% Laurent De Vere from Captive Prince by CS Pacat
He is a beauty who uses that against his enemies as well as his brain to bring down an entire court. He loves himself almost as much as he loves his husband Damen and everyone calls him a bitch but is high-key afraid for their lives.
Nick Eisner from Simon vs the Homo sapiens agenda by Becky Albertalli
I don’t know if he’d memorize everything but he went to see the school play TWICE to keep his bro company while he pined from afar and had a perfect reaction when Simon came out to him (no reaction) so I’m giving him the title of most loyal
"I'm not holding your hand," I tell him, smiling a little. "All right"--he nods--"but know that I would.”
Magnus Bane from every shadowhunter series by Cassie Clare
(He is in every single one and I love him)
This man is over 400 yo but he can’t get a good night sleep since his gorgeous shadowhunter boyfriend (+friends) showed up on his doorstep.
While he does have his own literal children now, he has been taking care of Alec and his family (I’m counting Clary and Simon in there of course) since day one; be it spells or information or a place to crash on he has always helped. He is tired but has too much love to give (just let him rest, he’s been doing this since The infernal devices)
That isn’t to say that he just takes it and let’s everybody walk over him. He stands up for himself and confronts Alexander about it but if there’s any real danger he will be there to help, no questions asked.
The one and only Kaz Brekker from the Six of Crows duology
Kaz Brekker, Dirtyhands, the bastard of the Barrel and deadliest boy in Ketterdam
We know him and he is as scary as Rosa. No one really knows anything of his past and everyone is too scared to ask. But I’d kill to see him smile (preferably without suffering people in the background, but I’m not picky)
I don’t know about you but if I find a particulary depressing character I either ignore them or (if they are too important to the plot) I just dnf so this is a hard one.
Bombur from The Hobbit by Tolkien
You know this book and the
fanfiction video with all the OC and crossover from lotr movies. If you read it then you know what I mean.
This dissaster of a dwarf should have never gone on a quest in the first place. He spends his time complaining and getting on your nerves. What’s worse? He falls on a magical deadly river (that they were told to avoid) and goes on a coma so his friends have to carry him most of the way (That part gets uncomfortably fatmisic though and I in no way support that. My annoyance with the charcter is because of his attitude, not his body) Only for him to wake up and say how he wishes he was stil asleep and a burden to everyone else. He is so irritating I wanted him to be eaten by the dragon.
Lila Bard from A darker shade of magic by Victoria Schwab
Perfect travel companion and master thief. She has a dry kind of humor that made me fall for her and is a certified badass, wants to be a pirate and the first thing that she makes with a magic stone is a sword
and a copy of a stranger doing a striptease. She would kill for you but she also needs money for her ship, so…
I’m a big fan of this show though I can only watch the few seasons that are available on Netflix (thanks Argentina) But we ALL know what happened so I’m even MORE excited for everything related to it.
Marry me Rosa
